In addition, he took on the role of head coach for the Duke City Gladiators in the IFL for the latter half of the 2021 season, stepping in for the then-head coach, Martino Theus. Under Kent's leadership, Duke City secured a fourth-place finish in the Western conference with a 7-7 record. They went on to make a commendable playoff run, advancing to the second round before narrowly falling to the Arizona Rattlers in the semifinal, 58-55.
