A community leader, Hassan Yatim's winning formula in business has equaled success for the Pirates, making the organization one of the most stable in the Indoor Football League. As Chief Executive Officer and Co-Owner, Hassan's leadership from day one has helped to make the Pirates successful on the field and across the Bay State as a civic-minded organization working with numerous charitable causes.
Born and raised in Freetown, Sierra Leone, Hassan lived in the West African country until ultimately moving to Boston when he was 17. In 1987, he graduated with a degree in economics from Suffolk University. Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer, Owner, and President of HMYatim Ventures and Chop Chop Convenience Stores.
Hassan is married to Maria Elena Yatim, and together they reside in Massachusetts, having raised three children, Esteban, Jawad, and Nina.
JAWAD YATIM - FOUNDER, CEO, & GENERAL MANAGER
Winning never gets old, and after eight years as the Founder, Co-owner, President, and General Manager of the Pirates, Jawad Yatim feels as young as ever. Over the franchise's first seven seasons, the Pirates boast an all-time record of 70-47.
The Pirates have reached the playoffs on six occasions, and four times have recorded ten wins or more, including postseason play. The Pirates won the Indoor Football League Championship in 2021, carried a 14-game winning streak into 2022, and finished the 2023 campaign with an undefeated record at home, and reached their second championship in their seven-season history in 2024. Yatim has established himself as one of the premier recruiters in professional football. The Pirates have seen over 85 players get signed to the NFL, CFL, XFL, USFL, and AAF following their experience with the Pirates since their inaugural season in 2018, which is the most in all arena football during that time span.
Off the field, the younger Yatim has landed various media partners, including one of the most prominent throughout arena football in NESN, which has aired over three hundred hours of Pirates-related programming. Yatim has also overseen the acquisition of over two million dollars in cash and trade corporate partnership revenue, while negotiating multiple arena lease agreements and guiding the organization from the NAL to the IFL, which has become the premier arena football league in the country.
