2024 Massachusetts Pirates Roster
Biography
C.J. Coldon began his collegiate career at Wyoming, where he redshirted his freshman year and encountered limited playing time in 2018 and 2019 due to injuries, participating in only six games combined. However, he remained injury-free during the abbreviated 2020 season, showcasing his skills with two interceptions in just six games. His momentum continued into the following year, where he demonstrated his prowess by starting in all 13 games, accumulating 67 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, a sack, and ten passes defended, earning him a spot on the second-team All-Mountain West Conference. Throughout his tenure at Wyoming, Coldon amassed a total of 112 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, a sack, two interceptions, and 17 passes defended.
In 2022, Coldon strategically transferred to Oklahoma for his last year of eligibility, a move that proved advantageous. He excelled, leading the Sooners with four interceptions and securing an All-Big 12 honorable mention. Throughout 12 games, he showcased his defensive prowess, tallying 43 tackles, two tackles for loss, and six pass breakups, reinforcing his value to the team.
Following the 2023 NFL Draft, he joined the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent but was released upon the conclusion of training camp. Subsequently, he found a place on the Vikings' practice squad, albeit briefly, before being released once more on November 1st.
Following his stint with the Vikings, Coldon transitioned to the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders in January of this year, remaining with them until June. Upon his release, Coldon swiftly seized a new opportunity in arena football with the Pirates, where he will bolster an already talent-rich secondary.
