2019 Massachusetts Pirates Ownership

  • Jawad Yatim - Owner, President, General Manager & Director of Player Personnel

In 2017 Jawad Yatim envisioned an arena football franchise playing in Massachusetts. In 2018 that dream became a reality with the National Arena League granting an expansion franchise to Worcester. It was hard to tell that the Pirates were a new addition into the league as Massachusetts went 11 and 5 in the regular season and secured the top seed in the playoffs..

Yatim takes pride in making the Pirates a great corporate citizen as the franchise to date has partnered with over 30 civic groups and non-profit organizations, giving back to the communities across the state of Massachusetts.

Aside from managing the team as the General Manager and Director of Player Personnel, Yatim who graduated from Mt. Ida College with a degree in English, has used his media savvy to promote the Pirates.

Not only did Yatim put a top flight product on the field, but he secured the rights to have his organization appear on a major sports television network (NESN) and assembled a broadcast team comprised of one of arena footballs’ all-time quarterbacks, an award winning local sports broadcaster and an international Emmy Award winning play-by-play announcer.¬† His social media prowess quickly made the Pirates one of the most “followed” teams in the National Arena League.
