Peterson, 34, has played six seasons of arena football and won a National Arena League championship with the Carolina Cobras in 2018.
The State University of New York College at Cortland alum, spent time with the Tampa Bay Storm, Spokane Empire as well as Carolina. He was assigned to the AFL’s Columbus Destroyers in its last season before the league folded.
For Peterson, his job is about more than just kicking the ball. The National Arena League champion kicker wants to bring his trademark eccentric personality to the DCU Center.
“For me, I’m a veteran now and to bring that kind of excitement, joy, love, and especially passion for the game here for a team like Massachusetts, that’s gonna get everyone else fired up even more,” Peterson told masspiratesfootball.com. “We already have some dogs here in Massachusetts and now we have one more in myself and coming from the Carolina Cobras a couple of years ago where we did win an NAL Championship, we had to get through Massachusetts. To bring that charisma and energy to this team, I think it’s only gonna make us even better.”
