Pirates Sign LB Koby Quansah – Presented by Phoenix Communications, Inc.

WORCESTER, MA – The Massachusetts Pirates, Champions of the Indoor Football League, have signed former Duke University linebacker Koby Quansah for the 2022 season.

The 6’1” 230 lb. psychology major from Manchester, CT played four seasons at Duke, starting 17 times in 47 games. During his career he made 207 tackles, 21 for a loss and had 3.5 sacks. He also forced two fumbles, recovered three, broke up four passes and had 13 quarterback hurries.

A captain in his senior season, Quansah earned All-ACC Third Team honors recording 105 tackles and 12 tackles for a loss with 2.5 sacks in 2019. He led the Blue Devils with six double-digit tackle games from the middle linebacker position. On September 27, he equaled his career high of 13 tackles in a game against Virginia Tech and was named the ACC Linebacker of the Week. Quansah finished the season tied for fourth in the ACC averaging 8.8 tackles per game. He was also seventh in tackles (35th in the NCAA) and was tied for 15th in tackles for a loss per game with a 1.0 average. He recorded at least five tackles in every game that season.

An Academic All-ACC selection in 2017, Quansah played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl and was named a National Football Foundation (NFF) New Hampshire Honor Society Member.
