WORCESTER, MA – As the Pirates head out west to kick off their three-game road trip on Saturday night against the Tucson Sugar Skulls, this game will feel a little different for Pirates DB Harlan Miller.

Miller was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the 6th round of the 2016 NFL draft. Miller played two seasons with the Cardinals, appearing in five games, recording 13 tackles and one interception. Upon being drafted, Miller moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where he now splits time living in Phoenix and Texas. After his two seasons with the Cardinals, Miller signed with the Washington Football Team. He most recently played for the Los Angeles Wildcats of the XFL, prior to the league suspending operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the changing of scenery, Miller still calls Arizona home.

Miller says he is excited to go back to the desert, but he is most excited to see his family and friends in Arizona. “It’s been six months now since I’ve seen them, so it’ll be good to see them”.

Though it is Miller’s birthday this Sunday, Miller says the birthday celebrations will have to wait until the team is back in Worcester. He knows it is still a business trip for him and the Pirates as they look to advance to 4-3 on the season. “I just want to see my family and friends, you know it’s been a long time. Just catch up. Can’t do too much before the game”.

For Miller, it still feels like a regular road game, but he says that is likely to change. “It hasn’t hit me yet, but I’m pretty sure once I get there it’ll all soak in and hit me like I’m playing in Arizona again”.

Miller says his friends and family will be in attendance for the game Saturday, as he and the Pirates look to bounce back from last Saturday’s 40-33 loss to the Frisco Fighters. Kick off from Tucson Arena is set for 8:05 pm.
