The IFL recently announced its “Player of the Week” for Week 3, and for the third consecutive week, a Massachusetts Pirates player has won Offensive Player of the Week. Following Justin Stockton and Alejandro Bennifield bringing home the awards for Week 1 and 2, Pirates wide-out Thomas “T.O.” Owens was named Offensive Player of the Week for the third week of IFL action.

T.O was unstoppable all game, posting 8 catches, and accounting for 105 of the Pirates’ 184 total receiving yards. After Bennifield connected with Owens early in the 2nd quarter on a 7-yard touchdown, the Pirates didn’t look back, ending the game on a 36 – 6 run, with Owens’ play leading the way. The 2019 NAL Offensive Rookie of the Year has been sizzling to start the season, currently leading the IFL in receiving yards, and posting the IFL’s first 100-yard receiving game this season.

T.O. and the Massachusetts Pirates enter their bye week with a 2-1 record, and look to continue their momentum when they return to action and begin a three game homestretch, starting with the Spokane Shock on May 22nd at the DCU Center.
