FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE. WORCESTER, MA, APRIL 6TH 2021 — The Massachusetts Pirates have announced its first partnership with an adult-use sale and medical cannabis dispensary. Resinate, located at 1191 Millbury Street in Worcester, opened its doors last March as Worcester’s fourth cannabis shop. Resinate opened its second retail store in Northampton in November 2020 for adult-use sales. Resinate prides itself as an exclusive Massachusetts company, as the organization’s owners, staff, products, and strains all come from the Commonwealth.

According to terms of the deal, Resinate will be the presenting sponsor of the Massachusetts Pirates official website and social media studio, as well as being the presenting sponsor of the official post-game party located at the Boardroom in Worcester, MA. following all Pirates home games. Resinate and the Pirates will also co-host five co-branded community service events, centered around 21+ initiatives, per calendar year, for the length of the partnership. Resinate branding will also appear at select Yatco Food Mart Convenience stores around Massachusetts, which is also Pirates-owned.

Founder and CEO Peter DeCaro is excited to grow alongside the Pirates, and looks forward to continuing to develop his already successful brand in the New England community.

“We are very excited about our partnership with the Mass Pirates. Cannabis may provide these athletes with a natural alternative to the use of opioids for pain relief. Cannabis use may also help the body and mind recover from the physical and mental demands of performing at such a high level. Also, Worcester is our home and we are proud to partner with the Mass Pirates in serving our community at a time when we people need it the most.”

Resinate serves Central and Western Massachusetts cannabis customers who are looking for the Best of Breed Cannabis products. The company offers pre-orders, curbside pickup, and free delivery to medical cardholders (please visit http://www.iresinate.com for details on where delivery is currently available) and also offers discounts to veterans, patients over the age of 65, and to those with verified financial hardship.

Customers must be at least 21 years old to buy recreational cannabis. Medical cannabis is available to individuals 18 or older with a Massachusetts Medical Cannabis card.

Jawad Yatim, Pirates founder and director of sponsorship sales, feels excited about the partnership and views Resinate’s products as an alternative recovery method for athletes, especially those in a contact sport.

“It’s been a pleasure working with Melissa, Lauren, and Peter on this deal and it’s truly a historic deal at that. I also have to mention a former front office member of ours, Jesse Heninger, who played an integral role in the early stages of this partnership. I believe our community certainly benefits from having Resinate a part of it, and we are elated to assist their brand from an exposure standpoint in the New England area and be an advocate for natural healing remedies for those who are interested in more of a holistic medical approach. With the rigors of playing a contact sport for so many years as our players have, it’s essential to be open-minded when it comes to recovery and treatment for not just your body but your mind as well. We support our players preserving both their physical and mental health as they choose and look forward to promoting Resinate’s upcoming line of athletic recovery products.”

The Pirates plan to conduct a press conference to announce the organization’s partnership with Resinate publicly on Monday, April 12th, at 11 AM at Resinate’s Worcester location.
