WORCESTER, MA. — Following the release of the updated 2021 season schedule, the Massachusetts Pirates have also announced new theme nights for their inaugural season in the IFL.

Starting in Week 5 of the regular season, the Pirates will host “Opening Night” in their 2021 home opener against the Spokane Shock at the DCU Center. The date of the theme night is still to be determined due to television scheduling matters.

The Pirates will host their second home game on Saturday, June 5th at 7:05 PM/ET against the Louisville Xtreme at the DCU Center. The theme night for this contest will be “Medical Heroes Night”. The Pirates recognize all the hard work performed by the frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and are excited to celebrate those workers in the second theme night of the season.

Whiteout Cancer Night” comes a week later, on Saturday, June 12th at 7:05 PM/ET. The Pirates will be playing the Frisco Fighters at the DCU Center that night.

Pirates Nation will have to wait nearly a month until the next theme night. “Military Appreciation Night” will be held on Saturday, July 10th at the DCU Center. The Pirates will play the Bismarck Bucks at 7:05 PM/ET.

New England Patriots defensive back Jonathan Jones attended City of Champions Night in 2019.

The second of three consecutive theme night weekends will be held on Sunday, July 18th at 1:05 PM/ET. The Pirates will square off against the Arizona Rattlers at the DCU Center by celebrating “Worcester Spirit Night” during an afternoon matinee. This will be the only theme night taking place on a Sunday this season.

On Saturday, July 24th, the Pirates will play host to the Louisville Xtreme for a second time this season. “City of Champions Night” will be celebrated, as all professional champions from Massachusetts will be in attendance. Kickoff for this game is scheduled for 7:05 PM/ET at the DCU Center.

Perhaps the most spectacular costumes will be seen on “Star Wars and Retro Night”. This will be the Pirates’ second-to-last home game of the 2021 season. Massachusetts will play host to the Green Bay Blizzard on Saturday, August 7th at 7:05 PM/ET at the DCU Center.

The Massachusetts Pirates’ final theme night this season will be “Fan Appreciation and $4 Beer Night” on Saturday, August 21st at 7:05 PM/ET. The DCU Center should be rocking in the Pirates’ final regular season home game. Massachusetts will face the Iowa Barnstormers in this contest.
