Citgo And Massachusetts Pirates Form Partnership
Marking a first in Massachusetts Pirates history, the organization has proudly named CITGO Petroleum Corporation, the Houston-based oil refining and marketing company, their official fuel and petroleum partner.
“We are thrilled to partner up with such a prestigious brand in the gas and fuel industry,” said Jawad Yatim, Pirates founder, president and director of corporate partnerships. “CITGO has had an iconic presence in the New England area for decades and we look forward to working together to provide exciting entertainment for the community.”
CITGO has many historical ties to the region, with its signature CITGO sign in Kenmore Square that debuted in 1965, to Marketer relationships that were established in 1931 when the company was known as Cities Service.
Today, the New England region is home to nearly 1,200 CITGO branded retail locations. In total, there are more than 4,500 CITGO branded retail locations in the United States.
