WORCESTER, MA. — Offensive lineman Dwayne Wallace has been signed for the 2021 season. Wallace last played in The Spring League in November 2020. He also played in XFL for the Los Angeles Wildcats in 2020.

At 6’5” and 335 pounds, Wallace feels comfortable entering this next chapter of his professional football career.

“I think I’m going to fit in just fine. I’ve been in this situation many times and I’ve learned to grow and adjust on the fly,” Wallace told masspiratesfootball.com. “With the Pirates, I’m hoping to win a championship and someday make it to the NFL.”

Pirates President and General Manager Jawad Yatim attributes this signing to the clear message he is sending to the Indoor Football League this off-season.

Wallace started 9 games at right guard while playing in the PAC-12 at Cal.

“As an organization, we feel that you do win games at the line of scrimmage and through our transactions thus far this off-season you can see that notion hold true as we approach the 2021 season. We have been in contact with Dwayne the last couple of years and we are glad to get him aboard, we look forward to getting him up here for camp along with everyone else.”

Wallace has garnered professional football experience outside of the Pirates. After going undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft, Wallace had brief stops in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears. Wallace took part in rookie minicamps for both teams in May 2019.

Prior to his professional football career, Wallace played college football at three different schools. First, he enrolled at Riverside City College for his freshman and sophomore seasons. He then transferred to the University of California at Berkeley for his junior year.

In his senior year, he transferred again, this time to the University of Kansas. That season, Wallace started 9 games at right guard. He also started a game at right tackle. Following his college football career, Wallace was a 2019 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl Participant. He is a native of Riverside, California.
