The team officially announces the signing of former University of Georgia offensive lineman Kendall Baker.

Team president Jawad Yatim is excited to have Baker who helped clear running lanes for Sony Michel and Nick Chubb while at Georgia.

“What excites me about Kendall is that he’s hungry, he’s got a chip on his shoulder. He’s motivated for all the right reasons,” Yatim told masspiratesfootball.com. “The talent is there, but we need people who are mentally checked in and we feel Kendall fits that mold. Glad to have him on board and look forward to getting him up here.”

Baker made 14 starts at left guard for University of Georgia in 2017 and was one of two winners of the “Up Front” award at team’s postseason awards gala.

In 2018, he started nine of 13 games as a reserve lineman.

Baker who is determined to keep playing, is excited to bring his talent and hunger to Worcester.

“With the hunger that I have, I got a chip on my shoulder and I’m trying to prove something to the world,” Baker said. “I just go gotta go out there and prove that I’m still that same guy [who helped clear the way for Sony Michel and Nick Chubb at Georgia.] I’m definitely that same person and same high-speed kind of guy. I’m just gonna come off the ball hard and still prove that I can still block for anybody.”

The Pirates offensive line is now as follows:

-Kendall Baker
-Mitchell Bell
-Wilson Bell
-Kendall Calhoun
-Jakobi Smith
-Chasz Wright
